The Planning and Statistics Authority (PPS) has issued the seventy-first issue of the "Qatar: Monthly Statistics" bulletin, which is a series of statistical bulletins issued on a monthly basis. In this issue, the most important statistical variables that occurred in the country during the month of November 2019 were highlighted, in addition to extracts from the results of the 2015 census.
One of the most prominent variables in this issue is the increase in total deposits and credit facilities at a monthly rate of 0.6% and 2.3% respectively (compared to October 2019) and an increase in the annual rate of 4.6% and 9.1% respectively compared to November 2018).
Demographic data showed that the total population in the country increased from 2.76 million in November 2018 to 2.77 million in November 2019.
In terms of vital statistics, the total number of live births reached 2117 during November 2019, and the total number of live births in Qatar recorded a decrease of 10% compared to the previous month, while the total number of deaths reached 201 deaths, an increase of 15.5% compared to October 2019.
November 2019 witnessed a monthly decrease of 6.7% and 27.9% in the total number of marriage contracts and total divorce certificates, respectively, as the total number of marriage contracts reached 292 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 111 divorce cases, representing one divorce case against 3 marriages.
As for the social security data, it amounted to QR 88 million in November 2019 for 15689 beneficiaries.
Electricity consumption during November 2019 reached 3248.0 GWh, recording a monthly decrease of 31.8% and an annual increase of 30.2%. While the total water consumption reached 54373.5 thousand cubic meters during the same month, recording a monthly increase of 33.2% and an annual increase of 56.4%.
With regard to the data of building permits issued, the total number of permits during November 2019 reached 673, recording a monthly decrease of 29.5%.
As for the data related to traffic accident cases, the total number of traffic accidents reached 608 during the month of November 2019, recording a monthly increase of 1.5%. Minor injuries accounted for the vast majority of traffic accident cases during the same month with 88%, followed by severe injuries with 10%, while deaths amounted to 13 deaths, equivalent to only 2% of the total traffic accident cases.
With regard to new vehicles registered, the bulletin indicated that the total number of new vehicles registered during the month of November 2019 reached 5690 new vehicles, recording a monthly decrease of 13.2% and recording an annual increase of 3.5%.
As for the banking sector, the value of the broad money supply (2) reached about QR 563.4 billion during November 2019, recording an annual increase of 0.2% compared to November 2018, while the value of quasi-cash, which includes deposits of commercial banks, reached about QR 830.5 billion during November 2019, recording an annual increase of 4.6% compared to November 2018, where the total deposits at that time amounted to about QR 794.1 billion.
