The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 86th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis. In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during February 2021 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2015 Census.
One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the increase in the Total Transactions via Hukoomi e-Government Portal at a monthly rate of 5.3% compared to January 2021, and at an annual rate of 104.0% compared to February 2020.
Furthermore, among the most notable changes is the increase in total deposits and total credit at a monthly rate of 1.3% and 0.8%, respectively (compared to January 2021), and at an annual rate of 3.7% and 7.6%, respectively (compared to February 2020).
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has decreased from 2.78 million during February 2020 to 2.66 million at end of February 2021.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 1678 live births have been registered during February 2021. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 17.0% compared to last month. On the other hand, 178 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 16.0% compared to January 2021.
Moreover, February 2021 has experienced a monthly decrease by 26.2% and 6.2% respectively in marriage contracts and divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts was 298 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces has reached 183 divorce cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 82 Million Qatari Riyals in February 2021, for 14615 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly increase of 0.02% and an annual decrease of 3.9%. for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.8% and an annual decrease of 5.8%. for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
Total electricity consumption during February 2021 was 2402.8 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 6.2% and an annual decrease of 2.8%. While the total water consumption has reached 47522.5 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 5.3% and an annual decrease of 4.1%.
As for the Visitors arrivals data, reached 13764 visitors in February 2021, Recording a monthly decrease of 1.7% and an annual decrease of 93.8%.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 1294 permits during February 2021, recording a monthly decrease of 6.4% and an annual rise of 94.9%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 631 traffic cases were recorded during February 2021, showing a monthly decrease of 4.5% and an annual increase by 2.3%. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 89%, followed by severe injuries by 9%. However, 14 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
The total number of registered new vehicles during February 2021 has reached 5141 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 6.0% and an annual decrease of 14.5%.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 598.1 Billion Qatari Riyals during February 2021, an annual increase of 0.8% compared with February 2020. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 912.4 Billion Qatari Riyals during February 2021. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 3.7% compared to February 2020, when deposits recorded approximately 879.5 Billion Qatari Riyals.
