- A 0.2% monthly increase in total number of live births (Qataris) in June 2024, compared to previous month.
- A 6.9% monthly increase in the general market index (points), compared to May 2024.
- A 33.4% monthly decrease in total number of new driving licences issued in June 2024, compared to May 2024.
The National Planning Council has released the 126th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis. In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during June 2024 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census.
Among the notable changes in this issue is a monthly decrease in total number and value of sold properties by 11.5% and 11.2%, respectively (compared to May 2024). This was accompanied by a monthly decrease of 30.6% in the value of traded stocks,14.0% in total number of traffic accidents, and 17.6% in total number of traffic accident fatalities (compared to May 2024).
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increase from 2.656 million at June 2023 to 2.858 million at June 2024 at an annual increase rate of change of 7.6%, and decreased monthly by 7.2% (compared to May 2024).
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2434 live births have been registered during June 2024. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 0.2% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 188 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 17.9% compared to May 2024.
Moreover, June 2024 witnessed a monthly decrease of 14.0% & 32.3% of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts reached 349 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 126 cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 77 Million Qatari Riyals in June 2024, for 14362 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 0.5% for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.1% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 732 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2024, an annual increase of 4.7% compared with June 2023. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 1032 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2024. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 8.0% compared to June 2023, when deposits recorded approximately 955 Billion Qatari Riyals.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 543 permits during June 2024, recording a monthly decrease of 30.6% and an annual decrease of 15.3%.
The total number of registered new vehicles during June 2024 has reached 6333 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 28.9% and it showed an annual decrease of 3.9%.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 647 traffic cases were recorded during June 2024, showing a monthly decrease of 14.0% and an annual increase by 4.5%. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 92%, followed by severe injuries by 6%. However, 14 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 316 thousand, recording a monthly increase of 0.9% (compared to May 2024) and recorded an annual increase of 12.2% (compared to June 2023). The highest number of visitors was from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at 47%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 55% of the total number of visitors.
