The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released the 51th edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin which contains various social and economic statistical indicators related to Qatar during the month of March 2018 in addition to highlights from Census 2015 survey results.
One of the most significant highlights in this edition is the increase in Number of Sold Properties as it has reached 345 Property , registering a monthly increase of 4.5% in comparison to the Number of Sold Properties during February 2018.
The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.66 million during March 2017 to almost 2.69 million at end of March 2018, registering an annual increase of 1.0%
In regard with Vital Statistics, a total number of 2126 live births has been registered during March 2018, on the other hand, 195 death cases were recorded during the same period.
On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 348 marriages during March 2018, whereas the total no of divorces has reached 110 divorce cases. In regard with Social Security value, the month of March 2018 has witnessed a significant decrease in number of Social Security Beneficiaries as it has reached 13677 individuals, whereas the total value of Social Security has reached 77.5 million Qatari Riyal during March 2018.
In regard to electricity and water consumption rates, the bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during March 2018 was 2350.7 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 9.4% as compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 38231.8 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 9.2% as compared with last month.
As for the buildings permit’s information, the bulletin showed that total number of permits has reached 712 permits during March 2018, and thus recorded a monthly increase of 11.3% in comparison with the previous month February 2018.
In regard to traffic cases, a total of 583 traffic cases were recorded during March 2018, showing in a monthly increase of 23.8% in comparison with the previous month February 2018 where it has reached only 471 traffic cases. At the same instance, 21 death cases were recorded during March 2018.
The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 6332 new vehicles during March 2018. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 19.0% compared to last February 2018, where the total number of registered vehicles was 5319 new vehicles.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about 601.7 Billion Qatari Riyals during the month of March 2018 showing an annual increase of 16.1% compared with March 2017 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 821.5 Billion Qatari Riyal during March 2018. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 9.1% in comparison with March 2017 from last year, as it recorded approximately 752.7 Billion Qatari Riyals.
