A delegation from TOTAL headed by Mr. Stephane Michel, Managing Director of TOTAL E&P Qatar,  visited H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Nabit the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics at his office on Monday 7 October. After introducing Mr. Yousef Al-Jaber TOTAL’s newly appointed Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Institutional Affairs, Mr. Stephane Michel gave an overview of the company’s activities in Qatar.  He emphasized that innovation, sustainable growth, environmental stewardship, and the core values of corporate social responsibility and ethics are important pillars of the company’s active participation in the country’s Oil & Gas industry.  TOTAL is willing to assist in the capacity building of the Ministry’s national staff, including secondment for specific periods, he said. H.E Dr. Saleh welcomed TOTAL’s delegation and wished Mr. Yousef Al-Jaber success in his new position, and commended the company’s proactive policy to align its Corporate Social Responsibility with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011-2016. He was pleased to see that TOTAL is endeavoring, in practicing its corporate social responsibility, to focus on areas that the company is world-famous with, and aims at a sustainable development contribution to Qatar and not just a short-term-event style.  Dr. Saleh thanked Mr. Stephane for the capacity building support offer on issues such as “project management”, stating that the Ministry looks forward to further enhance cooperation with TOTAL.
