The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released the 46th edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics Bulletin) which contains various social and economic statistical indicators related to Qatar during the Month of October, 2017 in addition to highlights as per 2015 Census results.
One of the most significant highlights in this edition is the decrease in the public sector's commercial banks' deposits value which dropped from 352.4 Billion QR in last Sept. to 298.4 in Oct.,2017registering a Monthly decrease of 1.4% and an annual increase of 67.8% compared to the value of banks' deposits during the same Month last year.
The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.61 million during October 2016 to more than 2.67 million at end of October 2017, registering an annual increase of 2.2%
As for Vital Statistics, a total number of 2219 live births has been registered during October 2017, on the other hand, 189 deaths were recorded during the same period.
On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 322 during October 2017, whereas the total no of divorces has reached 124 divorce cases. Regarding Social Security value, the Month of October 2017 has witnessed a significant decrease in number of Social Security beneficiaries from 14220 in September to 14,050 individuals in Oct. 2017, whereas the total value of Social Security has slightly increased from. 81,134 (000QR.) to 81,1153 during the same period.
In regard to electricity and water consumption rates, the Bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during October 2017 was 3973.1 GWh attaining a Monthly decrease of 9.4% as compared with last month. The Bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 45397.3 Thousand m3 during the same Month attaining a Monthly increase of 5.4% as compared with last Month.
As for the buildings permit’s information, the Bulletin showed that total number of permits has reached 858 permits during October 2017, and thus recorded a Monthly increase of 81.8% in comparison with that of September, 2017.
In regard to traffic cases, a total of 603 traffic cases were recorded during October 2017, showing a Monthly increase of 44.6% as compared with that of September, 2017 which was only 417. In that respect, 20 traffic deaths were recorded during October 2017.
The Bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 6407 new vehicles during October 2017. The figure has registered a Monthly increase of 54.8% compared to that of last September 2017, which was 4140.
Total money supply (M2) recorded about 578.4 Billion Qatari Riyals during the month of October 2017 showing an annual increase of 18.3% compared with October 2016 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 794.3 Billion Qatari Riyal during October 2017. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 17.3% in comparison with October 2016 from last year, as it recorded approximately 676.9 Billion Qatari Riyals.
