HE Dr Saleh presented a National Voluntary Presentation (NVP) on behalf of the State of Qatar entitled Qatar National Development Planning and Implementation: Human Development, Sustainable Development and National Well-Being to ECOSOC’s Special Ministerial Dialogue held as part of a high-level political forum. It was one of 10 country NVPs: the other countries presenting being Bolivia, Gambia, Georgia, Kuwait, Mexico, Sudan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the State of Palestine.
HE Dr Saleh’s presentation was well received in the country reviews made by high-level representative of Malaysia and Kuwait, as well as in the moderated interactive dialogue on observations made by other national delegations, with particular note being made of Qatar’s inclusive national development planning process and that the planning framework is aligned at all levels.
The outcome of the meeting will be reflected in a ministerial declaration of the political forum, entitled: Achieving the Millennium Development Goals and Charting the Way for an Ambitious Post-2015 Development Agenda, including the Sustainable Development Goals.
