On Tuesday, 18 November 2014, Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) hosted the participants in the Government Leaders Program, which is organized by Qatar Leadership Centre, and attended by 33  candidates from various ministries and government agencies. The program included a meeting entitled "Roundtable Discussion on Social Development" with a view to familiarize the participants with the contents of the Social Development Pillar within the National Development Strategy (NDS) and  Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, as well as the role of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics in contributing to the achievement of NDS and QNV. MDPS presented the findings of an analytic study that included the following topics:  • Introduction to Social Development Pillar – QNV 2030 • Issues and challenges in the education and health sectors• Issues and challenges in social protection; family cohesion and women empowerment • National identity and the preservation of the national cultural heritage Moreover, both sides had an exchange of views and extensive discussions on  topics that would develop the capacity of participants in leading the departments and agencies they represent, in order to enhance the achievement of the goals of NDS  2011-2016.
