MDPS organizes a training workshop on the Child Culture Survey in Qatar’s Society
In cooperation with the Childhood Cultural Center, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, organized yesterday a training workshop for the researchers working on the Child Culture Survey in Qatar’s Society, which will be conducted next week in a number of independent schools.    The one-month survey will collect data on students, school staff, and parents by the social specialists working at schools, and other cultural centers.  The survey is aimed to identify the child culture from the perspective of children, parents, and staff working in areas of culture. The survey includes several axes, such as the axis of national identity (language – Qatar heritage – Arab and Islamic heritage), the axis of social and economic culture, the axis of artistic, literary and sporting culture, the axis of health and recreational culture, and the axis of research, technology and scientific culture.  The training, conducted at the ministry’s headquarters, comes after completion of the entire preparatory works, like the preparation of forms, definitions, instructions, and data collection software.  The researchers were trained how to select students randomly from each school, and how to select the parents, and staff at school and cultural centers. The researchers were also trained how to explain the concepts and definitions used in the survey, and how to fill in the forms.
