The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics issued a number of press releases that show economic and social developments in the State of Qatar, in addition to press releases about events organized by the ministry during October 2014.     Among Such events during October, Ministry organized a workshop on "Consolidation of Sustainable Development Concept," in collaboration with the GCC General Secretariat. The workshop was attended by nearly 120 officials from various ministries, government agencies and the private sector in Qatar, who discussed working papers submitted by many countries and international organization. Furthermore, the Ministry issued a press release about the Permanent Population Committee commemoration of Qatar Population Day under the theme "Five Years after the Launch of Qatar Population Policy". His Excellency Dr. Saleh Al Nabit, Minster of Development Planning and Statistics and President of the Permanent Population, opened the event with a speech in which he assured that Qatar Population Day this year coincided with the 5th anniversary of the launch of Qatar Population Policy, pointing out to the most important achievements of the Permanent Population Committee concerning the implementation of the Programme of Action of the Population Policy, and the challenges that stand in the way of achieving some of the objectives of this policy.
