In the “Mining” group, the PPI declined by 6.1%, primarily due to the overall price fall seen in the crude oil and natural gas group. On the other hand, price rise of 2.7% was seen in the basic metals. Glass & glass products also recorded a price rise of 0.6%. The PPI for “Electricity & Water” showed an increase of 1.2%, resulting from the combined effect of price rise of 0.9%, seen in electricity and the fall of 1.3% recorded in water prices. Comparison with the corresponding quarter (Q1) of 2013: The year-on-year comparison in PPI of Q1 2013 over PPI of Q1 2012 registered a fall of 2.2%.
