The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics released the Labor Force Sample Survey of the third quarter 2013 which aims to provide the quarterly statistics for the Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS). This latter was launched by the IMF within the data transparency standards which help to follow up the financial and economic conditions of the countries participating in this initiative.   This release includes a presentation of the characteristics of the labor force, unemployment, and non-economically active population (out of the labor market) in addition to the labor market indexes highlighted in the economic participation and unemployment rate.   The economic dependency amounts to 34% in the third quarter of 2013, with a slight rise vis-à-vis the first and second quarters of the same year. The working- age-population amounts to 1.7 million people; 1.4 of them are males whereas 343 thousand are females. The number of Qatari working-age-population attains 171 thousand individuals at a rate of 10%.
