The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics organizes a training workshop under the title: “The Establishment of the Statistical Infrastructure Required to Apply the System of National Accounts (SNA 2008)”. In the presence of representatives from GCC countries, the workshop will be held during the period, September 30 – October 3, 2013. 
 The workshop comes at the initiative of Qatar raised during the 21st Meeting of the Economic Statistics Directors, which was held in Riyadh in 2012. The latter meeting intends to apply the SNA 2008 seeking to maintain a statistical infrastructure through the availability of referenced and effective timely data. The workshop aims to adopt a unified regional program to apply the SNA 2008, and to collect and process the basic data according to the System of National Accounts. The workshop intends also to enhance the capacity of the GCC countries’ national bureaus of statistics to absorb and apply the SNA 2008. It is expected that the invitees from the participating countries and the staff of Qatari ministries and agencies would be able to assess the quality and timeliness of data necessary to implement the SNA 2008 for purposes of the economic analysis.
