The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, in cooperation with the UNESCO Statistics Institute, will organize in Doha a regional workshop on education statistics and its classification in the Gulf states and Yemen on this March 23-25.   The workshop is aimed at building statistical capacities in areas of education statistics. It also intends to develop the participants’ competence in the tabulation of expenditure data on education, based on unified and international methodologies. The workshop is aimed at identifying the participants on how to calculate and use the relevant indicators in planning and progress monitoring. The participants in the workshop will be trained on how to use the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED 2011), and how to use this latter in classifying the national education programs. The participants will also establish an appropriate environment for expertise exchange among the Gulf states regarding the education statistics in general.
