The Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics (MDPS) has released the Machinery & Equipment Price Index (MEPI) for the First Half /2015.

 Which reached 102.2 points, increased by 0.4% compared with the second half of 2014, and 0.7% when compared with the counterpart of the previous year 2014. The MEPI is the new indicator which added to the current product of indicator produces by the Ministry. it is calculated semi- annual.A comparison of the First Half, 2015 with that of the Second Half ,2014:  An analysis [on H-o-H basis] of MEPI [First half, 2015 against second half, 2014 indices] shows that most of the main groups were increased namely: “Special-purpose machines” group by 0.4%, because of the price increase in the Mining, quarrying and construction machinery “Office, Accounting and Computing Machinery” group by 0.3%, “Machinery and Electrical Appliances” group by 1.8 %, due to the rise in prices of Electric motors and generators, also “Transport Equipment” group was slightly risen by 0.1%.A comparison of the First Half, 2015 with that of the First Half ,2014:  A comparison of the MEPI of First Half, 2015 with the First half, 2014, noticed that MEPI as increase by 0.7% affected by price rice in most of main groups namely: “Special-purpose Machines” group by 1.6% “Office, Accounting and Computing Machinery” group by 0.5%, “Machinery and Electrical Appliances” group by 1.1 %, “Transport equipment” group was slightly risen by 0.4%. Table (1) presents MEPI of First Half 2015, and figure (1) shows the movement of MEPI during 2014-2015.
