National Planning Council Partners with Informatica to Boost Central Database and National Data Governance

The National Planning Council and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed a strategic contract with Informatica, a global leader in data management and governance. This partnership is part of a nationwide drive to strengthen the country's data ecosystem and reinforce the national central database as a trusted source for informed decision-making. The collaboration also seeks to accelerate the rollout of the National Data and Statistics Strategy and establish a unified, comprehensive framework for data governance across the nation.

This partnership aims to establish an advanced governance layer that strengthens the central database by standardizing national concepts and definitions, streamlining data flows across government entities, improving data quality and accuracy, and ensuring seamless integration and consistency across all systems. This initiative will cement the central database's position as the unified national reference and the definitive source for official information and data.

Ahmed Hassan Al-Obaidly, Director-General of the National Statistics Center at the National Planning Council, stressed that this strategic agreement marks a pivotal milestone in transforming the central database into a unified, trusted national source that empowers decision-makers, strengthens strategic planning, and positions data as a national asset in service of sustainable development and Qatar National Vision 2030. He added that Informatica was selected for its proven ability to deliver integrated solutions that standardize national concepts and criteria, enhance data quality, and improve interoperability among government entities—while upholding the highest security standards, ensuring full compliance with national data policies and digital sovereignty, and applying global best practices in data security.

This agreement builds on Qatar's ongoing efforts to establish data as a national and sovereign asset, supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. The collaboration will help elevate the quality of statistical outputs, enhance the effectiveness of strategic planning, and strengthen a decision-making ecosystem grounded in accurate and reliable data.

Partnering with Informatica constitutes a significant leap forward in integrating government data and enabling relevant entities to access unified, up-to-date datasets within a secure environment. This, in turn, elevates transparency and boosts institutional performance efficiency at the national level.
