The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics is pleased to put at your disposal the price index report of the State of Qatar – Q1 2018. It features quarterly data on the price index of goods and services, and its quarterly and yearly change rates. The overall CPI amounted to 109.0 points in Q1-2018, a rise of 0.2% compared to Q4 of 2017 (previous quarter).
Comparing the first Quarter of 2018 with the previous Quarter.
- Six groups increase (in line with the trend of the overall CPI), namely:
- “Transport” increased by 3.5%.
- “Health” increased by 2.2%.
- “Clothing and footwear” increased by 1.6%.
- “Furniture, and home appliances'' increased by 1.1%.
- “Miscellaneous goods and Services” increased by 0.8%.
- “Education” increased by 0.1%.
- Four groups decreased in this quarter (Q1, 2018).

“Food and Beverages” increased by 2.2%.

“Recreation and Culture” decreased by 1.0%.

“Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels” decline by 0.9%.

"Restaurant and Hotels” increased by 0.3%.
- “Tobacco” and “Communication” group remained stable in Q4, 2017 and Q1, 2018.
