The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released the 43rd edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) which is released on a monthly basis to highlight detailed statistics in the State of Qatar recorded during the period July 2017 in addition to glance from 2015 census results.
This edition highlighted significant increase in number of Sold Properties as it has reached 238 properties during July 2017. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 76.3% in comparison to last month, June 2017. The bulletin has shown a decrease in the total value of Sold Properties, as it has reached more than 1,838 Million Qatari Riyal during July 2017. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 48.8% in comparison to last month, June 2017.
The demographic statistics of bulletin shows that Qatar’s population has reached more than 2.4 million at end of July 2017, attaining an annual increase of 6.3% compared with population at end of July 2016 where population accounted for approximately 2.3 million.
In regard with Vital Statistics, a total number of 2,205 births has been registered in July 2017, on the other hand, 172 death cases were recorded during the same month.
On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 299 contracts at July 2017, while the total no of divorce cases was 63 declarations during the same month.
This edition highlighted significant increase in number of Beneficiaries of Social Security as it has reached 13,649 beneficiaries during July 2017. Thus the total value of Social Security, has reached about 78.3 Million Qatari Riyal during July 2017.
In regard to electricity and water consumption rate, the bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during July 2017 was 4,521.8 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 4.6% compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 45,304.7 Thousand m3 during the same month, registering a monthly decrease of 3.3%.
As for building permits information, the bulletin shows the total number of building permits has reached only 629 permits during July 2017, and thus recorded a monthly increase of 53% in comparison to June 2017.
In regard to traffic cases, a total of 451 traffic cases were recorded during July 2017, resulting in a monthly decrease of 7.4% in comparison with previous month June 2017 where it reached only 487 traffic cases. At the same instance, 11 death cases were recorded during July 2017.
The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 3,839 new vehicles during July 2017. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 14.1% compared to last June 2017, where the total number of registered vehicles was 4,471 new vehicles.
The bulletin shows that the total number of visitors reached about Million and 570 Thousand visitors from the beginning of the year until July 2017. The largest number of visitors are coming from Gulf countries with a percentage of 41.8%.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about 532 Billion Qatari Riyals during the month of July 2017 showing an annual increase of 8.3% compared with July 2016 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 772.5 Billion Qatari Riyal during July 2017. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 12.8% in comparison with July 2016 from last year, as it recorded approximately 685 Billion Qatari Riyals.
