Responsibilities & Functions

1. Develop strategies and policies for economic data and statistics in line with national priorities and take the necessary actions for their approval.
2. Develop and update the register of establishments’ economic data and statistics.
3. Participate in carrying out statistical surveys of economic establishments in coordination with the competent administrative unit and relevant entities.
4. Prepare statistics on the government sector, financial sector, economic indicators, gross domestic product and others in coordination with the competent entities.
5. Prepare price indices and other related indicators.
6. Produce statistics on the sectors of industry, energy, construction, domestic trade, finance, insurance, transport, communications, services and others.
7. Carry out economic statistical analysis and prepare related studies and reports in coordination with the competent entities.
8. Prepare statistics on foreign trade and the trade balance (imports, exports and re-exports) in coordination with the competent entities.
9. Apply quality standards for economic statistical data in coordination with the concerned administrative units.
10. Provide required economic statistical data to local entities and regional and international organizations in coordination with the relevant entities.
11. Prepare economic statistical data for publication in coordination with the competent administrative unit and relevant entities.
