Mission & Vision

Overview

PPC Vision

In pursuit of a better life for the population of the State of Qatar, this policy seeks to expand the choices available to individuals and families, enhance their capabilities, and increase their effective participation in the development of Qatari society across all social, economic, political, cultural, and other spheres. It also seeks to ensure that the population lives in a clean environment, enjoys good health through access to healthy food, clean water, and sustained healthcare, and leads its life in safety and peace within adequate housing environments, while safeguarding the human rights of citizens and residents alike. Furthermore, it aims to instill the values of truth, virtue, justice, and fraternity in future generations, while preserving their right to benefit from the country’s prosperity, wealth, and resources.

Recognizing that people are both the ultimate purpose and the principal means of development, the Permanent Population Committee seeks to develop a population policy aimed at achieving a balance between population growth and the requirements of sustainable development, thereby ensuring a decent life for the population of the State of Qatar, enhancing their capabilities, expanding their choices, and increasing their participation in the progress and advancement of Qatari society. 

To this end, the Permanent Population Committee works on developing a population policy designed to elevate the quality of life for all residents of Qatar—both citizens and expatriates—while monitoring the implementation of this policy in close collaboration with relevant ministries, government bodies, and civil society organizations. Additionally, the Committee actively monitors the rapid demographic dynamics within the country through academic research and field studies that analyze the social issues shaping, and shaped by, these trends.
