Responsibilities & Functions

1. Develop population, social and environmental statistical strategies and policies in line with national priorities and take the necessary actions for their approval.
2. Collect sectoral population, social and environmental statistical data in coordination with the competent administrative unit and relevant entities.
3. Prepare population, social and environmental indicators, Sustainable Development Goals indicators, and indicators required for international reports in coordination with the competent entities.
4. Conduct statistical studies in population, social and environmental fields, analyze the data and prepare related reports.
5. Prepare publication reports and tables for population, social and environmental statistics in coordination with the competent entities.
6. Coordinate to ensure completeness and consistency of the required statistical data and establish an appropriate framework for integrating sectoral statistics.
7. Define frameworks for collecting and producing source data and for the design of analytical reports and publications in cooperation with the competent entities.
8. Provide the required population, social and environmental statistical data to local, regional and international entities in coordination with the competent entities.
9. Apply quality standards for population, social and environmental statistical data in coordination with the competent entities.
10. Prepare population, social and environmental data and indicators and ready them for publication in coordination with the competent administrative unit and relevant entities.
