Census 2015
Based on the approval of the esteemed Council of Ministers (7), it was decided to implement the Simplified Census of Population, Housing and Establishments 2015 in the State of Qatar, which will be carried out by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning in accordance with United Nations recommendations. This census is the fifth in the series of population censuses in the State of Qatar, where the first census was conducted in 1986, the second in 1997, the third in 2004, and the fourth in 2010. The census is considered the most important and largest statistical work, as it is comprehensive of all elements of society, and provides modern data, information and indicators of interest to planners, researchers, decision-makers and policy-makers, meeting their information needs for developing various development programs to serve all members of society and its institutions. The successful implementation of the census requires meticulous planning for all its stages, and to achieve this goal the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics will use handheld computers in the first field phase then complete data from its registration sources in the state.
